An issue has been discovered where some position assignments managed by Electronic Staff Record (ESR) are being deleted from Care Identity user profiles.
This issue was introduced with Care Identity Management release 6.2 on 17 October 2024 and identified on 24 October 2024. We were hoping to deploy the fix today (24 October 2024) but in order to complete more tests to make sure there’s no additional impact we will now release the fix tomorrow (25 October 2024).
The issue
Position assignments added in ESR are causing previous positions added in different organisations, also in ESR, to be removed.
Here is an example of the issue:
User A1 uses ESR to add position assignment P1 within organisation Y1.
User A2 uses Care Identity Management to add position assignment P2 within organisation Y1.
User A3 uses ESR to add position assignment P3 within organisation Y2.
This causes position assignment P1 to be deleted from organisation Y1.
Position assignment P2 in organisation Y1 is not affected.
The impact
We do not yet know the full impact of this issue or the users affected by it.
We have identified a fix and plan to release it as soon as possible. We will be trying to identify the impact of this issue in the coming days and contacting anyone we find to have been affected by it.
If you know that you have been affected we would ask you to raise a ticket through the NHS Digital Customer Portal or email ssd.nationalservicedesk@nhs.net
We apologise for this issue and any inconvenience it has caused in your organisation.
